As we get closer to the pick-up dates I may be posting special notices or instructions on picking up at this location.
Why?
I live here and it is the last pick-up location of the day. handing out packages and driving the entire day. I will do my level best to keep my schedule but things may happen in the 200 miles and two other locations I will be stopping at.
I can tell you the biggest concern at this location about early arrivals. We have 6 rescue dogs. 5 are seniors and 2 are special needs. We do not want to get them all riled up. If we use another "Hastings" location it will be close to this location and I will list the address.
You'll know I am ready to start handing out your packages when you see the stack of supers and the "PINE HILL CREEK APIARIES" sign.
We will be posting our trips progress on here, on our FaceBook page and through texts. We do this to let you know what we are doing, any problems we may experience, to give you a chance to plan for weather problems or other unforeseen problems you or us may run into as we get closer to the pick-up dates and times. Below is what we did last year.
We left yesterday to make the long trip to Georgia to pick-up the 100 packages of bees.
The trip started in Michigan and so far we are just an hour away from our last stop for the night.
We will picking up your packages on the 11th and have a scheduled pick-up time of 3pm! A lot later then I wanted but they are going to try to get us in sooner (I sure hope they can!).
After pick-up it will be a "Cannon Ball Run" (only slower) back to Michigan.
Right now it is hurry up and wait in Adel, Ga. I have to say...the weather is nice down here. Think Michigan in July, flowers are all in bloom, the mustard fields are in full bloom and a beautiful, bright yellow.
We went by a Pecan Orchard which was being watered. Surprisingly enough I didn't see any cotton fields this time. When I would travel to Alabama I would see them everywhere.
Like last year the Port Huron area is going to be the first pick-up of the day. We ask you to make sure you make arrangements to be there on time or to have an alternate pick-up person. We require you to contact us AND to receive a reply from us regarding who will be picking up your packages, if you can't make it AND for them to pay any outstanding balance.
Another "must" is to be on time. I'll be basically driving from the East side of Michigan to the West side making one "will call" stop along the way.
The address will be provided a few weeks before the pick-up date.
The Davison Pick-up location is tentitvally scheduled for noon or one o'clock. This is a "will call/text" pick-up meaning that I will be contacting you with an approximate time that I will be there. Since it will be in the parking lot of a local business, just off of I-69 I will not be able to wait for customers for a long period of time.
I'll be posting the pick-up location at a later date.
I want to thank everyone who contacted me regarding questions and purchases. Why would I thank someone that didn't buy anything? Because they called and asked questions and that shows that our name was getting out there.
We will be posting a "Memorial Page" for the furry kids we have lost. Just a few weeks ago we unexpectedly lost Lexi, the Dutch Shepard. She was a great dog, to smart for her own good and full of energy. She was a lot of fun and is sorely missed!
This may sound counter-intuitive (on the side of my business) but I hope that all of your packages survive and that, other then questions, you call me for more orders to expand your apiaries and not to replace dead-outs. Regardless of the reason I hope to get your return business.
We are going to try to offer the same deal as before for next year but that depends on the price of bees, fuel, etc. It seems everything is going up. I also will be offering woodware (I am experimenting with different styles) and custom, made to order hives, Langstrom, Warre and Top Bar hives.
Coming soon to this site will the recipes using honey.
I've enjoyed talking to you and answering questions. Even if I discontinue this website for some reason (I will post that ahead of time but I don't see that happening right now) the pinehillcreek gmail address will still be up and running and you can always call or text.
Thank you again for all your help, comments and business. I wasn't sure how it would go and while I didn't sell all the packages I consider this first year a success.
Thank you for all you've done.
